Head of Creative Arts: Mrs Ashkowski

Our department is an exciting and diverse part of the school. The nature of the work we do often means that student participation both in and out lesson time is celebrated through visual displays and performances.

The Creative Department comprises of four different art forms: Art, Dance, Drama and Music. Students in Year 7 and 8 are taught a Mastery Curriculum on a rotational basis. Dance is taught within the PE curriculum and the other art forms rotate within the same block, allowing each group to visit each art form twice in the year. Year 9 students opt to specialise in 2 of the art forms and study these for the entire year.

In Key Stage 4 and 5 students will able to opt for individual Creative subjects. Although each of the art forms is a very discreet subject the team work closely together and this is reflected in the many collaborative events that take place throughout the year.
