Abbeyfield Young Chef Winner 2015!

15 year old Harrison Jones of Abbeyfield School become the latest winner of the – Rotary Young Chef 2015 Chippenham and Wiltshire Vale. The competition was closely fought with just two points separating first and second place.

The Rotary Clubs of Chippenham and Wiltshire Vale organised the 2015 Rotary Young Chef competition which took place on 21 January in Abbeyfield School, where the home team met a team from Hardenhuish School.

Each competitor set about the task of preparing a meal for 2 persons which cost no more than £12. Working from their own individual menu plans the young chefs had 90 minutes to complete the task under the watchful gaze of the judges Jacqui Stephens and Karl Finch (a former winner of Young Chef but now the Chef at Chippenham Golf Club). They were marking, not only for the quality and presentation of the meal itself but also the cleanliness of the kitchen area as the chefs went about their work.

Chippenham Rotary Club President Sylvia Gibson presented certificates to all contestants and Dr Bill Henry of the Rotary Club of Wiltshire Vale gave a book prize to the winner Harrison Jones who now goes forward to the District Competition in Bridgewater early next month.
